Delegates of 3rd AUSACO Conference Tour Dakhla Atlantique Port Construction Site

As part of their itinerary, members of the 3rd AUSACO Conference embarked on a tour of the Dakhla Atlantique Port construction site, gaining insight into the project's key features and witnessing its steady progress, with approximately 57% of the work currently completed. This ambitious undertaking is a cornerstone of the new development paradigm for the Southern Provinces, aimed at establishing Dakhla-Oued Eddahab as a pivotal hub for maritime industries and global trade. The project's significant economic and geostrategic implications reflect the monarch's commitment to propelling the Southern regions as a growth engine focused on Africa. On the same day, the delegates also visited institutions of higher learning, including the National School of Commerce and Management and the Higher School of Technology, where they learned about the vital role these institutions play in training skilled human capital to drive economic growth in the region. In an interview with MAP, Souleymane Satigui Sidibé, vice president of the special delegation of the Commune II City Council in the District of Bamako, commended the Dakhla Atlantique port as a strategically vital infrastructure project. Sidibé, who also serves as president of the Sahelian Initiative for Research and Analysis on Conflict Transformation, highlighted Dakhla's technical universities and business schools, which already attract students from multiple African countries. Meanwhile, Pedro Diaz de la Vega Garcia, an expert in political affairs and innovation project management, expressed admiration for the future Dakhla Atlantique port and its state-of-the-art facilities. According to him, the current wave of development in the Southern provinces benefits not only Morocco but also aligns with a broader African perspective, particularly for younger generations who are encouraged to play a key role in shaping their countries' futures. Following these visits, AUSACO members engaged in discussions with local officials, Regional Council members, and chioukhs, focusing on recent diplomatic developments related to the Moroccan Sahara issue.
