The city of Tangier is set to host a major gathering of Moroccans from around the world, as the National Forum on Investment and Moroccans of the World gets underway. This event is being jointly organized by the Ministry of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies and the Department in charge of Moroccans Residing Abroad. The forum, which will be held under the theme “Moroccans of the World: A Productive Contribution to the Development of the Kingdom”, aims to highlight the crucial role that Moroccans living abroad play in the country's economic transformation. It will provide a platform for discussion, networking, and practical support, with the goal of encouraging investment projects that create value, employment, and have a positive impact on local communities.
With a global community of over six million people, Moroccans living abroad represent a significant economic, human, and strategic asset for the Kingdom. In addition to financial transfers, the diaspora brings a wealth of expertise, international connections, entrepreneurial spirit, and a deep commitment to Morocco's long-term development. This initiative is in line with the High Royal Guidelines, which aim to strengthen support mechanisms for Moroccans living abroad and improve the investment climate in Morocco.
It also reflects the Kingdom's ambition to better connect its diaspora with regional development opportunities and national economic priorities. The forum is expected to attract around 300 participants, including over 150 Moroccan investors from abroad. The program will feature institutional panels, business-to-business meetings, networking sessions, and dedicated support sessions for project holders and potential investors.
A key aspect of the forum will be a focus on Morocco's regions, with the twelve Regional Investment Centers presenting sectoral opportunities, project pipelines, support mechanisms, and financing tools available at the regional level. This territorial approach will allow investors from the diaspora to identify concrete opportunities beyond the major urban centers and explore projects tailored to the economic potential of each region.
The forum has two main objectives: to consolidate the involvement of the Moroccan diaspora in the Kingdom's major economic projects, and to strengthen the attractiveness of Morocco's regions for investors established abroad. This event marks an important moment for Moroccans around the world, as it confirms that diaspora investment is no longer viewed solely as a financial contribution, but as a driver of innovation, regional development, job creation, and long-term partnership between Morocco and its citizens abroad.
The National Forum on Investment and Moroccans of the World will provide an opportunity to showcase Morocco's reforms, promote regional investment opportunities, and open a new chapter in the relationship between the Kingdom and its global diaspora.
