Powered by liquefied natural gas, the two ferries are expected to increase passenger capacity and improve comfort on board, especially for MRE families travelling with children, elderly relatives or vehicles. Their deployment comes at a strategic time, as thousands of Moroccans around the world prepare their annual trip back home.
Beyond transport, Operation Marhaba remains a major human and logistical operation for the Moroccan diaspora. For many MREs, the journey to Morocco is not just a crossing. It is the beginning of long-awaited reunions with family, homeland and roots.
