Led by the State Secretariat for Foreign Trade, in partnership with the National Ports Agency, Tanger Med Port Authority, the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration, and PORTNET, the initiative aims to make foreign trade procedures more transparent, accessible, and efficient for businesses.
The new portal will allow companies, importers, and exporters to access trade-related procedures more easily through the interconnection of information systems between the administrations and public bodies involved. This should help reduce duplicate data entry, improve administrative tracking, limit information gaps, and strengthen coordination between the different public institutions handling foreign trade files.
Beyond its technical dimension, the platform reflects Morocco’s broader ambition to modernize its economy, accelerate digital public services, and improve the business environment. By simplifying procedures for operators, the country is seeking to boost its competitiveness and reinforce its position as a regional hub for international trade and logistics.
During the launch ceremony, several agreements were signed to support the deployment and long-term development of the portal. A memorandum of understanding was concluded to strengthen the strategic partnership between the National Ports Agency and Tanger Med Port Authority in support of PORTNET. Another agreement focused on enhancing secure interoperability and coordination between the information systems of the administrations concerned.
A third partnership agreement formalized the entry of Tanger Med Port Authority into the capital of PORTNET, marking a significant step toward consolidating the role of digital platforms in Morocco’s foreign trade ecosystem.
With this new portal, Morocco is sending a clear message: the future of foreign trade will be faster, more transparent, and increasingly digital.
